2015 saw the team at C.S. Bowyer Funeral Directors in Wiltshire returning to the annual Bradford on Avon pancake race to be held on Tuesday 17th February. Last year Stephen Bryant took first place after his second week of employment. This year Ben Tylee, Harry Hamlin and Ben Meacham competed along with other entrants and tried to keep the pancakes flipped for another victory.

Unfortunately they were beaten to first place by Zippy but congratulations to Ben Tylee (2nd Place), Harry Hamlin (3rd Place), Ben Meacham (4th Place).

plant-a-poppy-posterThis year, during Remembrance month, we launch our Plant a Poppy campaign and invite you to call into our branch for a free pack of Poppy seeds, for you to plant in your garden as a personal memory of those who served. We hope that you will find inspiration and comfort from a symbol synonymous with loss, selflessness and ultimately, remembrance.

A long-lasting reminder of what the Poppy means to us all. “Lest We Forget”.

“In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.”

In Flanders Fields by John McCrae
